I'm an '07 graduate of a small high school in the city of Baltimore. I am currently a freshman (class of 2011) at Mt. St. Mary's University, double majoring in English and Computer Science. I intend to go to grad school to study computational linguistics -- basically, I need to know a little bit of everything!

I'm a workaholic by genetic luck and necessity. I wasn't a very social kid (I wasn't allowed to have friends in my house until I was about 17 years old, and I could never leave because I had work to do), so I never really learned what was considered "too much" or "too little" in terms of a lot of things. When I find something I enjoy, I will "work" on it, research it, and perfect it regardless of time or place, until I pass out or injure myself.

Having said that, I'm interested in the following topics (in no particular order, and only to name a few):
1. Afrikaans and the history of South Africa
2. Linguistic determinism
3. The psychology and physiology of language
4. Robotics and the engineering behind roller coasters
5. Classical music
6. Art of Hispanophone nations
7. Movie scores (musical)
8. Dream meanings
9. Molecular gastronomy (looking at cooking from a scientific, rather than an artistic, point-of-view)
10. Obscure, cult films and cartoons (Any fans of Freakazoid and Histeria! on this site?)
11. American legal history and the development of the American Constitution

I am taken by a fantastic guy named Jon, who is in college for Computer Science and Applied Mathematics (he's the biggest nerd I know, next to myself). We've been together for two years, and we hope to get married a year after our graduation from college.

I also use this site for paid posting from PayPerPost, Smorty, and LoudLaunch as a source of quick income before school starts (since finding a job when you don't drive is a very difficult task). All such posts are marked accordingly and have a disclosure statement beneath them.
